A sampling of some of the really cool Arduino shields that you can order and use in your projects.
Arduino Tutorial: Arduino GPS tutorial with MakerStudio GPS shield and Arduino Uno. Easy DIY project
In this video we learn how to build a simle GPS tracker using a shield made from makerstudio.cc.
The GPS module export its data in NMEA format. So we have to parse the NMEA data in order to see valuable information. Luckily, the TinyGPS++ library can help us parse the data without even get our hands dirty.

The Arduino traffic light project is a great way to introduce yourself to how an Arduino works. In this tutorial we will build a very simple circuit and some code to bring it to life.
Full Tutorial: http://arduinomylifeup.com/arduino-traffic-light-project/
As we mentioned above this project is great for beginners and newcomers to the Arduino.
The equipment list for this project is really small and you can pick up everything relatively cheap. You can always add more LEDS to this project but we will be simply using the 3 light system. (Red, Yellow and green.)
• Arduino Uno • Red, Yellow and green LED • 3 x 100 Ohm resistors (Colour = Brown Black Brown) • [...]
Arduino Tutorial: GSM/GPRS SHIELD (SIM900) SMS Send and Receive Tutorial on Arduino Uno
In this video we are going to see, how easy it is to send and receive SMS messages using the Arduino GSM/GPRS shield (with SIM900 chip) from Tinysine. The shield is capable of sending and receiving SMS messages as well as making and receiving phone calls. It can also connect to the Internet using the GPRS network. But we will take a look at this later on in another video.
In this video, we connect to the GSM network of COSMOTE in Greece and we send an SMS message to a cell phone. Then we reply to Arduino and read the message in the Serial Monitor in the computer.
We take a [...]

The Hall Effect sensor is a very useful sensor to use in many projects. It is very easy to use as you can see in this easy Arduino Tutorial.
Today’s project is this: When I place a magnet close to the sensor, an LED lights up in order to inform us that it detected a magnetic field. It is a very easy project to build but very useful as well.
The sensor that we are using is called a Hall Effect sensor, a sensor that it can detect the presence of a magnetic field. The sensor is very cheap, this module I got for Arduino costs around 1.5$ and you can find a link for it in the description of the video. The sensor is used in many devices that we use daily.
It is used [...]
In this video, I am continuing on with my Arduino Uno Projects. For my second project I will be doing the Digital Read Serial example off the www.arduino.cc website. I am learning more and more about the Arduino and I must say I am enjoying learning very much. source
